I spent some quiet time in the greenhouse today, watching how the sunlight moves across the spinach and kale. Even with the short days, a few leaves look surprisingly healthy, while others are showing a bit of frost stress. I didn’t expect spinach to hold up this well without extra heat.
I’m curious—does anyone else notice that certain leafy greens seem to “adapt” better to low light than root vegetables?
Maybe it’s the way they capture what little sunlight there is.
A small surprise: a tiny patch of parsley near the south-facing window is actually growing faster than the main bed.
I wonder if the reflected light off the snow is giving it a boost.
I’m noting this for next year—I might try shifting a few plants around to see how they respond to microclimates inside the greenhouse. It’s fascinating how much observation can teach without doing anything complicated.
Have you ever had a plant surprise you in the dead of winter, just when you thought the season was over?

Greenhouses:
I think this is every gardeners dream, but is it really worth the expense and space that it takes up in the garden.
Anyone else have a greenhouse?
I don't have one, but I am not sure if I want one either.
