I searched and AI said:
2-3 minutes - depending on size.

Harvested some purple beans today - going to blanch them - pat dry and freeze them.
What about you?
Are you preserving anything?

For fresh green beans, blanch them for 3 minutes in boiling water.

How to blanch green beans

Wash the beans and trim the ends.

Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil.

Add the beans and start timing once the water returns to a boil.

Blanch for 3 minutes.

Immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water for 3 minutes to stop the cooking.

Drain and pat dry.

If you're freezing them

Bean size || Blanching time

Small, thin beans
2 minutes

Medium whole beans
3 minutes

Large, thick beans
4 minutes

Gardener's tip: If you're freezing your harvest, blanching stops the enzymes that cause loss of colour, flavour and texture during storage. Don't skip the ice bath!

For freezing: pack the beans into freezer bags or containers after draining thoroughly and pat dry. They'll generally keep good quality for about 8–12 months in the freezer.
