Reconsidering whether peppers are worth growing in Zone 6

Here we're at end of August and my peppers are still green.
I started them indoors.
I also one get one harvest - still get some flowers, but the first frost will arrive before I can harvest anything.
Maybe I haven't found an early variety of peppers for my zone.
The peppers and plants are healthy - just still green at the end of August.
What about you?
Any peppers cropping for you?
