Question: Best Plant ties - what do you use?

Best plant ties:
I went in the garden and watched as my ties are disintegrated in the sun.
I have velcro, soft wire coated, stretchy plastic, plastic ties, plastic clips, jute and I end up with messy bits of plastic and jute everywhere.
What do you use?

I was thinking strips of an old T-shirt.
At least it will be all the same colour for the first year.
What do you use and do you replace every year?
