Sweet Potato Leaf Cuttings - will it grow Tubers?

A couple weeks ago I was starting my sweet potato slips and I broke a leaf and I wondered...
So I planted the leaf and it's growing.

Now my question is - will it grow tubers?
Anyone else tried this?
I don't know why I planted the little leaf...because? :roll:
