Re: Winter Sowing – Success, Fails, and Tips!
Winter sowing did not work for me and I don't think it will work in cold climates with a lot of snow.
I grow in zones 6A in Canada.
For me to start my seeds outdoors in milk jugs or plastic bottles during the winter, it didn't save me anytime. In fact it cost me more, because I had to buy soil and babysit the silly things.
What I didn't like the most was having my deck look like a recycling depot.
By the time my seedlings in bottles and jugs started to grow, it was also germinating in the garden.
I didn't have to water anything and the seedlings in the garden were strong and use to the elements.
That was my experience, maybe it will work for warmer climates.
